AC Induction motor
Standalone induction motor with run state, electrical loading, thermal drift, and fault health.
What it is
A general-purpose three-phase AC induction motor. Modelled as a standalone asset, so it drops into any context that needs a rotating electrical load — pumps, fans, conveyors, auxiliary machinery — without the hydraulic or process coupling of more specific asset models.
Used in
Every built-in environment includes this model: smart-factory, water-treatment, commercial-building, backup-power.
What it tracks
| Member | Why it matters |
|---|---|
running | Operating state from the run-command + ramp dynamics. |
speed_feedback | Ramped rotor speed, governed by load. |
load_factor | Fraction of rated load the motor is pulling. |
current_phase_a | Single-phase current proxy with slip and load coupling. |
power_draw | Electrical power at the shaft. |
vibration_velocity | RMS velocity that grows with bearing and imbalance faults. |
winding_temp_u / bearing_temp_de | Thermal drift following load, with fault surfacing. |
runtime_hours | Lifetime counter, feeds wear on downstream models. |
fault_active / active_fault_code | Live fault visibility. |
Fault modes
bearing_defect_inner_race— raises vibration and drive-end bearing temperature.rotor_imbalance— broadband vibration rise across speed range.winding_insulation— winding temperature climb with load-dependent onset.
Key parameters
| Parameter | Default | Unit |
|---|---|---|
rated_rpm | 1750 | rpm |
rated_power_kw | 15 | kW |
rated_voltage | 480 | V |
rated_current | 25 | A |
poles | 4 | — |
Use cases
- Driving a fan, pump, or conveyor where the load model comes from the downstream asset.
- Electrical-side condition monitoring (current, power, vibration) without process coupling.
- Aging rotating equipment alongside newer assets in the same plant.
